SMS Messaging Policy
Poo Patrol Pet Waste Removal — Text Message Communication Policy
Last updated: June 25, 2026
Poo Patrol collects express written consent from customers before sending any SMS text messages. Consent is collected during the online service booking process at our website.
When booking a service, customers are presented with a clearly labeled "Text Message Updates" checkbox. The checkbox is unchecked by default — a customer must actively check it to opt in. No customer is ever enrolled in SMS without taking this explicit action.
The checkbox is accompanied by this on-screen disclosure, with links to this SMS Messaging Policy and our Privacy Policy: "By opting in you agree to receive recurring service updates and scheduling notices via text from Poo Patrol; message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help."
Consent is recorded in our system with a timestamp and is associated with the customer's account. Customers are never enrolled in SMS messaging without their explicit opt-in action.
Poo Patrol sends the following types of text messages to opted-in customers:
- Service Scheduling Confirmations — Sent when a customer's recurring service day and time are set or updated. Includes service day, time, frequency, and first appointment date.
- Appointment Reminders — Sent before scheduled service appointments to remind customers of upcoming visits.
- Job Completion Notifications — Sent after a service is completed, including payment confirmation details (amount charged, payment method used).
- Schedule Change Notices — Sent if an appointment needs to be rescheduled due to route adjustments or other operational needs.
We do not send marketing, promotional, or advertising messages via SMS. All messages are transactional and directly related to the customer's active service.
Customers can opt out of SMS messages at any time through the following methods:
- Account Settings — Logged-in customers can disable the "SMS Notifications" toggle in the Preferences section of their dashboard at any time.
- Reply STOP — Customers can reply STOP to any message received from our number to immediately unsubscribe from all text messages.
- Reply HELP — Customers can reply HELP to any Poo Patrol message to receive help, including our support contact information and a reminder of how to opt out.
- Contact Us — Customers can contact us directly to request removal from SMS communications.
Opt-out requests are processed immediately. Once opted out, no further text messages will be sent unless the customer re-enables SMS notifications.
Message frequency varies based on the customer's service schedule. Typical customers on a weekly plan may receive 1-3 messages per week (reminder, completion notification, and occasional schedule updates). Customers on bi-weekly or one-time plans receive fewer messages.
Message and data rates may apply. Poo Patrol does not charge for text messages, but standard carrier messaging rates from the customer's mobile provider may apply.
Customers can reply STOP to any Poo Patrol text to opt out, or HELP for help, at any time. A typical message looks like: "Poo Patrol: Your yard service is scheduled for Tue 6/30. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Msg & data rates may apply."
Phone numbers collected during booking are used solely for service-related communications. We do not sell, share, or distribute customer phone numbers to third parties for marketing purposes.
All SMS messaging is handled through Twilio, a trusted and compliant messaging platform. Customer data is transmitted securely and stored in accordance with industry best practices.
