Dog-Friendly Parks & Walks in Ellensburg, WA

One of the best parts of living in Ellensburg is how much open space there is for dogs. Whether you've got a high-energy retriever or a chill senior pup, there's a spot nearby that fits. Here's the short list of places we hear about most often from our customers.

City of Ellensburg parks

The City of Ellensburg maintains several parks that are great for on-leash walks. Rotary Park is a local favorite for its open lawn space and easy parking, and Reed Park gives you tree cover on hot summer afternoons. Always check the latest signage for leash and waste rules.

Irene Rinehart Riverfront Park

Probably the most popular spot in town for dog owners. The trails along the Yakima River are scenic year-round, with great winter walks when the rest of the county is socked in with snow. There's plenty of room to walk a long loop without backtracking.

The John Wayne Pioneer Trail (Palouse to Cascades)

Just outside town, this rail-trail is a fantastic on-leash walk for dogs that need real distance. Easy footing, flat grade, big sky. Perfect for working off some Saturday morning energy.

Backyard time still matters

Walks are great, but most dogs spend the majority of their outside time in their own yard — which is exactly why keeping it clean matters. Pet waste left in the yard isn't just unpleasant; it can attract flies, harbor bacteria, and discourage dogs (and their humans) from spending time outside.

That's where we come in. If keeping up with the scooping has gotten away from you, our recurring cleanup plans take it off your plate completely. Most of our Ellensburg customers are on a weekly schedule and never think about it again.

Where else we cover

Beyond Ellensburg, we also serve dog owners in Kittitas, Cle Elum, Roslyn, and Thorp. Same simple plans, same haul-away service.
